What Rodent Control Includes
Rodent control involves more than just setting traps; it’s a systematic approach to removing active infestations and structurally "locking down" your home.
Everyday fixes for rodent issues
These are the most common interventions needed when activity is first detected.
Before the list: Rapidly addressing these prevents rodents from nesting and multiplying in your walls.
Strategic Baiting & Trapping: Placement of professional-grade stations in high-activity "runs."
Activity Monitoring: Using non-toxic tracking to identify nesting sites.
Entry Point Identification: Pinpointing the exact holes, gaps, or pipes they are using.
Sanitisation: Professional clearing of droppings to remove pheromone trails.
Light maintenance and proofing
Stopping rodents is about making your home a fortress.
Before the list: Small structural "fixes" are the only way to stop repeat invasions.
Expanding Steel Wool Seals: Filling gaps around utility pipes that rodents can’t chew through.
Airbrick Mesh Installation: Durable stainless steel covers that block entry but allow airflow.
Door Brush Strips: Heavy-duty seals for the base of garage or kitchen doors.
Concrete Patching: Filling small foundational cracks that act as rodent "gateways."
“A single sealed hole today prevents a whole colony tomorrow.”
Signs your home needs attention
Scratching sounds in the ceiling or behind skirting boards at night.
Ammonia-like smells coming from enclosed spaces like cupboards.
Gnaw marks on wood, plastic, or electrical cabling.
Torn packaging in pantries or food storage areas.
Pricing Factor: Rodents
Factor | What it affects | Why it matters |
Infestation Scale | Number of visits | Rodents usually require 2-3 visits to clear the life cycle. |
Property Size | Trap/Bait volume | Larger homes require more coverage to be effective. |
Proofing Level | Material cost | Steel mesh and specialised sealants add to the final total. |
How do I know if I have rats or mice?
Rats are larger and leave spindle-shaped droppings (approx. 12mm), while mice leave much smaller, pointed droppings (approx. 4mm) and tend to be more inquisitive.
Is the bait safe for my children?
We use lockable, tamper-resistant bait stations that keep the rodenticide away from curious hands and paws. They are weighted to prevent being moved.
What happens if a rodent dies under my floorboards?
We use specialised baits that encourage rodents to seek water outside, but if one does expire indoors, we can provide deodorizers and carcass removal services.
Will you block the holes they are using?
Yes. "Proofing" is the most important part of our service. We identify the holes and can provide a quote to professionally seal them during our visit.
